Leticia Barrera earned her Master’s in International Psychology in December 2021. She holds three certificates in Trauma Studies, Hypnotherapy, and Crisis-Informed Care for a Diverse and Globalized World. In addition, she served as a Research Assistant during her undergraduate years for Dr. Rachel Wamser-Nanney at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Dr. Wamser-Nanney’s research focused on child adversities and community trauma. She is interested in various research topics, such as human trafficking, the impact of globalization on culture and Indigenous practices, and modern-day colonialism in policies and mental health practices. Currently, she works as an HR/Talent Associate for KIPP St. Louis Public Charter Schools. Her hope is to change HR systems that continue to oppress people of color and minorities.
