Dr. Tatiana Karabchuk, PhD
Started her academic career in 2002 and got her PhD in economic sociology in 2009. Currently, she is an associate professor of sociology, Department of Government and Society, CHSS, UAE University, Editorial Member of the journal ‘Social Forces’ as well as Council Member and Conference Chair for World Association for Public Opinion Research. Tatiana actively participated in more than 25 research projects, successfully completed 12 research grants as the Principal Investigator. Tatiana authored more than 35 academic articles in peer-reviewed journals. The research interests cover youth studies, labor market studies, demography, subjective well-being, happiness, job stability and fertility, labor migration, gender equality values, marriage, family formation, and cross-country comparative sociology. Being an active researcher Tatiana has h-index 13 and 777 Google Scholar Citations. Tatiana authored more than 35 academic articles in peer-reviewed journals in the field of social sciences, including such top-ranked journals as Journal of Family and Marriage, Higher Education Quarterly, Post-Soviet Affairs, The ANNALS of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, Journal of Happiness Studies, Mind & Society, Current Psychology and etc. Previously Tatiana worked for 15 years at National Research University Higher School of Economics as deputy head of the international research center and associate professor. Tatiana was a visiting researcher at IOS Regensburg (Germany), GESIS EUROLAB (Germany), Population Centre of the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill, USA), at Institute for Economic Research at Hitotsubashi University (Tokyo, Japan), and at the Institute for Survey Research at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, USA).
