Dr. Mark Rackley, PhD
I qualified as a counseling psychologist from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. I trained in both adolescent and adult psychological work. Initially, I worked with secondary school and university students, before joining the Health Service Executive (HSE) working in a specialist service for young people addicted to drugs and another specialist service for adult survivors of childhood trauma.
I moved to London nearly 13 years ago and I initially worked for over six years for the NHS treating adults with various mental health difficulties. I now work solely in my own private practice, with an excellent external team of psychiatrists, GP’s, and other medical professionals. I see patients from age 13, right up to 80.
I consult and comment on psychological matters for magazines and on radio and television. I have just completed my first book, which I hope will be published soon, and am about to start my podcast in April 2022.
Some of the psychological approaches I use in my client work include:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
Interpersonal Therapy for Adolescents (IPT-A)
Psychodynamic Therapy
person-centered Therapy
I am affiliated with the following governing organizations and work by their code of practice and ethics:
Chartered Psychologist – BPS (British Psychological Society), Associate
Fellow – BPS, Registered Counselling Psychologist – HCPC (Health and
Care Professions Council)
